Pick a supported radio, buy the version that covers the U.S. 902–928 MHz band, and check with your local group before you mount anything.

Every device is in the official web flasher with the firmware types shown. Specs come from each maker's product page; "Not stated" means the maker's page didn't say.
Many radios ship with Meshtastic installed and are sold as Meshtastic devices. You can reflash them with MeshCore using the web flasher. Where meshcore.io links a MeshCore version of a product, we link that one.
The LILYGO T-Deck usually runs a standalone MeshCore firmware with a screen and keyboard. The FAQ says it is free to use, with an optional paid unlock for some features, and is not open source.
